While the aromatic huckleberries give this year’s forest beer a subtle reddish hue, the resinous and spicy pine cones provide the typical forest note. At 5.9% alcohol, the beer is slightly lighter than its predecessors. “Every year it’s a fiddling job: What could fit, and which forest ingredient can be brewed well? With huckleberries and pine cones, we have created a fine, very drinkable beer with a mountain forest aroma. A beer that is a great pleasure to drink,” says brewmaster Axel Kiesbye.
